Course Objectives To experience the interdisciplinary creation process of digital games through the eyes of an art director with the assistance of contemporary technological methods.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;

  • Creating a concept design as an art director,
  • Creating visual content coherent with the overall concept,
  • To improve drawing skills,
  • Digitial drawing and animating in 2d environment
Course Description Students will be able to practice their acquired design skills and use them in the digital field and gamification.

3 Determining the main structure, mechanics, story, characters and space design of the game to be designed None
4 Designing the character :- Creating drafts of the character – his/her features, body type, expression, outfit, accessories None
5 Illustrating the character– working on style and drawing None
6 Digital illustration – drawing in pixels / vectors, coloring None
7 Designing the environment – layers – foreground, background and sprite layers None
8 Designing the environment – detailed drawing None
9 Coloring and designing the overall atmosphere None
10 Character rigging with 2d animation tools None
11 Animating the character with 2d animation tools None
12 Animating the character with three different poses Preliminary work about interface design
13 Designing the UI elements Finalisation of the Storyboards, final touches
